SEO Case Study
Latecomers.in — building organic search visibility from the ground up
A ground-up SEO build that took a site from effectively zero search visibility to 13,200+ Google Search impressions and around 40–50 daily organic visitors in roughly four months.

Overview
Project overview
Latecomers.in came into the engagement with very little established search presence. That is a common and, in some ways, useful starting position: there is no legacy technical debt to unwind and no history of decisions that need reversing before progress can begin.
It also means everything has to be earned. A domain with no accumulated trust does not rank for competitive terms in its first quarter regardless of content quality, so the plan had to be built around what was realistically winnable inside a four-month window — long-tail and specific searches first, with the structure in place for broader terms later.
The starting point
SEO challenges
- 01
No established search visibility
The site was not appearing for meaningful queries. With no ranking history, there was no existing position to improve — every impression had to be created rather than recovered.
- 02
A new domain with no accumulated authority
New domains take time to earn trust. This constrains which searches are realistically reachable in the first few months and makes keyword selection the highest-leverage decision in the plan.
- 03
Indexation had to be established first
Before ranking is possible, pages have to be discovered, crawled and indexed. Verifying that pipeline end to end was the prerequisite for everything that followed.
- 04
Unclear which searches were winnable
Without existing Search Console history, the initial keyword direction had to be derived from live results analysis and competitor structure rather than from first-party query data.
- 05
A short window to show progress
Four months is early for SEO. The work had to be sequenced so that leading indicators — impressions and query coverage — moved early enough to confirm the direction was right.
Approach
SEO strategy
- 01
Establish the technical foundation first
Crawlability, indexation, sitemap and robots configuration, canonical handling and mobile rendering were verified before content work began. Publishing into a broken indexation pipeline wastes the effort entirely.
- 02
Target reachable searches, not aspirational ones
Keyword selection was deliberately weighted toward specific, long-tail and lower-competition queries that a new domain could realistically compete for, rather than head terms that would have produced nothing inside the window.
- 03
One page, one intent
Every page was mapped to a single search intent so that no two pages competed with each other — the most common self-inflicted problem on growing sites.
- 04
Match the page format to what already ranks
For each target query, the format Google was already rewarding was identified first, and the page built to match it. Format mismatch is the most frequent reason otherwise good pages fail to rank.
- 05
Build internal linking deliberately from the start
Structured internal links so that new pages were discoverable immediately and authority flowed toward the pages that mattered most, rather than accumulating on whichever page happened to get linked.
- 06
Let Search Console redirect the plan
Once impressions began appearing, the query data became the primary input. Terms the site was starting to surface for — often ones not in the original plan — were used to guide what was built next.
Execution
What was actually done
Technical improvements
- Verified that pages were being discovered, crawled and indexed, and resolved what was blocking the ones that were not
- Reviewed robots.txt and XML sitemap configuration so only canonical, indexable URLs were submitted
- Implemented self-referencing canonical tags and eliminated duplicate URL variants
- Checked rendered output to confirm content, internal links and metadata were present in what crawlers actually receive
- Addressed mobile rendering and page weight, since mobile is the version Google indexes
- Set up Google Search Console properly and used the indexing and query reports as the primary measurement source
- Ensured heading hierarchy and semantic structure were correct across templates rather than page by page
Content & on-page strategy
- Mapped each page to one primary search intent, documented as a keyword map
- Wrote unique title tags and meta descriptions across the site, front-loading the primary term
- Structured pages so the answer to the query appears early rather than after preamble
- Covered the related sub-questions a searcher has but has not typed, which is what keeps a page competitive
- Built an internal linking structure connecting supporting content to the pages intended to convert
- Expanded coverage into query themes that Search Console showed the site beginning to surface for
- Revisited and deepened existing pages before adding new ones, which is consistently the faster route to growth
Results
Search visibility development
- 13,200+
- Google Search impressions
- 40–50
- Daily visitors
- ~4 months
- Time period
Reported in Google Search Console
Approximate range at the end of the period
From the start of SEO work
Over roughly four months, the site moved from effectively no search presence to 13,200+ impressions in Google Search Console and approximately 40–50 daily visitors from organic search.
The more useful signal underneath those numbers is the shape of the growth. Impressions rise before clicks do, and query coverage broadens before positions consolidate. Seeing impressions accumulate steadily across an expanding set of queries — rather than spiking on one term — is what indicates that a site is building genuine topical relevance rather than getting lucky on a single page.
The engagement is ongoing. Four months establishes direction and confirms the foundation is sound; the compounding phase of SEO comes later, as authority accumulates and the pages built early begin ranking for progressively more competitive terms.
